Greenshift Europe

Greenshift Europe is an organisation.  It is also a movement of European communities, small and large, to increasingly exploit the benefits of information and communication technologies (ICT) for achieving climate change goals.  We are contributing to European initiatives such as the EUROCITIES Green Digital Charter, which aim to:

• measure and manage the environmental impact of ICT infrastructures;
• optimise ICT use for enabling development of "smart" communities -- particularly via ICT deployment in the building, transport, lighting and energy sectors; and
• implement ICT infrastructures which unleash transformational behavior change in support of lifestyles more in harmony with our larger ecosystem.

The work of Greenshift Europe has also been recognized by the European Commission's DG Transportation & Energy as fundamentally contributing to the ability of Covenant of Mayors signatories to design, build and deploy effective Sustainable Energy Action Plans in order to achieve their commitments to the environment.
